AlexANDRA CROSBY
T H E S T O R Y
Hi! I'm a music director, pianist, conductor, and singer from Orlando, FL. My pronouns are she/her.
I studied classical piano privately with Elizabeth Fullington from age 5. I quit in high school, turned to theatre, then switched gears again and studied political science at NYU.
I dropped out after two years. Dabbling in some college theatre was enough to wake my heart up to what I loved.

I stayed in NYC for a year and music directed some shows for NYU, cabarets, developmental work, and led worship at a small church called Communitas NYC. I devoured any kind of work and learning experience I could.
I did a season of summer stock theatre and then jumped aboard a cruise ship to play in the show band. I later became the bandmaster/musical director of the ship, where I learned a lot about sight-reading and a lot about admin work.
When I reached terra firma, I did another summer stock season. And then I went back to sea. This time, premiering a new show: "Six." I wore custom leather pants and counted my blessings every day.
Now – I'm back in my hometown in Central Florida.
We are living through a pandemic (!).
I'm working on finishing the degree I ditched.
And I'm making music when and where I can.

If you'd like to make music together in this strange time, we've got options, friend: both virtual and in-person (socially distanced). Click on my awkwardly-formal "Services" page for more info. Pricing is on a sliding scale.
I love this career – making music – because it's personal. You breath your life into your work. Your co-workers become your family. You create with them. You do life with them. It's intimate. It's profound. It's joy.
